Dr. Payam Shadi

Advance Sleep Medical Center, Inc., operates under the direction of Dr. Payam Shadi, M.D., a Diplomat with the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Shadi has extensive experience in the field of Sleep Medicine, and has gained invaluable practical experience working both in prominent Southern California hospitals and as a researcher in the private sector and at the UCLA Department of Molecular Biology.

After graduating near the top of his class with Honors from Saint George's University, School of Medicine, in 1999, Dr. Shadi completed his medical residency at Seton Hall University in New Jersey and subsequently pursued his education in the field of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Shadi has been a featured speaker at various medical seminars relating to sleep disorders, and is currently a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Shadi is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys rock climbing, skiing, river rafting, swimming, traveling, and other related activities. He has also served as a volunteer physician for the New York City Marathon.

Dr. Joseph A. Broujerdi

Dr. Joseph Broujerdi is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon specializing in body and facial aesthetics. Drawing on his extensive training, surgical expertise, and artistic vision, Dr. Broujerdi delivers desirable results and the best in medical care. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a recipient of the Henry M. Goldman award, Dr. Broujerdi has trained in Craniofacial/Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, General Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery. His training includes a fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center and residencies at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center and the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate/Kings County Hospital Center, Brooklyn, NY.

Widely sought after for his research and expertise, Dr. Broujerdi has written many papers covering new developments in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, has contributed to peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored a book chapter on Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition, he has given presentations and spoken at national and international conferences.

Furthermore, Dr. Broujerdi also specializes in obstructive sleep-apnea surgery. He performs the most complex surgeries, including moving upper and lower jaws forward, to create more airway space for air exchange during sleep. He has trained with some of the world’s most prominent plastic and craniofacial surgeons.

In addition to his extensive experience in aesthetic surgical procedures, Dr. Broujerdi has devoted much of his own personal time and resources to medical missions in third-world countries. There, he has performed reconstructive surgeries on pediatric patients with congenital anomalies and traumatic deformities, including cleft lip and cleft palate, and burn victims.
